Disinfection measures help to prevent the introduction of the Jordan virus (ToBRFV) into greenhouses. To this end, a decontamination concept for tires has now been investigated at the Humbuldt University of Berlin.
The study showed that tires can easily become contaminated when driving over ToBRFV-infected plant residues and thus contribute to the spread of ToBRFV. The virus concentrations on tires differ, which is why different, firmly defined virus loads were applied in the studies. ProfilGate, a fully automatic clean run zone that combines mechanical cleaning with chemical disinfection (in this case using MENNO Florades), reliably removes 90 to 99% of ToBRFV from the tires in just a few seconds - regardless of viral load and tire material - while MENNO Florades safely inactivates ToBRFV in the clean run zone.
